CETI team wins award at the 4th Portuguese Congress of Reproductive Medicine
One of the scientific research papers that the CETI team presented at the IV Portuguese Congress of Reproductive Medicine on October 9, 2010, won the award for best free communication.
The IV Portuguese Congress of Reproductive Medicine was organized by the Portuguese Society of Reproductive Medicine (SPMR) and took place at the Lisbon Congress Center.
Oocyte Secretory Factors Receptors in Human Cumulus Cells: expression and cell localization related to Woman’s Age, was the title of our project.
As part of a line of research aimed at identifying biomarkers of oocyte quality that prove useful in the selection of oocytes for fertilization, this work demonstrated for the first time the presence of receptors for important growth factors of oocyte origin in the cells that cover the oocytes.
Furthermore, it has been shown that its expression decreases as a woman ages, which can therefore compromise her fertility.
Congratulations to the entire CETI team!
